TGIF SESSIONS EP006
DUTCH, ANTILLEAN LEAGUE PRESENTS EPISODE 006 OF THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY SESSIONS AN EXCLUSIVE MIX BY MENASA.
Bryan Palm (1981), known to everyone as Menasa, Caribbean music producer extraordinaire. He has been involved with music since his teenage years and originally went by the name DJ Menace,
but when he noticed how people around him pronounced it, the name eventually evolved to Menasa. If you live on the ABC-islands than it is very likely that you have heard of him, his reach is as long as an eagle’s gaze and his golden touch like Midas.
Starting off his career with the super group Immorales, he quickly branched out on his own and has produced hits for just about every big name in the Urbanmusic scene of the Dutch Caribbean, and even some artists beyond this arena. Artists like Basic One, Ivan Soliana, Brainpower, The Party Squad, Brian Dekkers, Enmeris, Mosta Man, Da Ridlaz and Area 51, just to name a few, have all had the opportunity to work with him. Among the many hits he has produced are “Muñeca”, “El Caballo” and “Nochi Pa Club” with Immorales, “Balor” with Brian Dekkers, “Kliko” with Ivan Soliana, “Heavy” with Uncle Gadz, “Fin Di Siman”, “No Worry” and the international sensation “Bala” with Tony Montana Music.
The latter became a milestone not only for the group, which Menasa founded, but for Curaçaoan music in general; the accompanying video clip reached twelve million views on YouTube, a colossal feat considering it was made by Curaçaoan artists on location in Curaçao, an island with a population of roughly one hundred and fifty thousand. But this is just the beginning for this Curaçao native as he is emerging from the background and stepping to the forefront with his productions, poised to become the Caribbean’s answer to Diplo and Major Lazer with his hypnotic blend of Electro dance music immersed in Moombahton.
